Do you Kinect will ever take off with bigger and better games? Even now there isn’t many Kinect games coming out or any that aren’t minigame collections on the horizon. What is there? Steel Batallion and Child of Eden?

How many DS models have the both of you bought? Just wondering. I’m currently thinking about buying a DSi but I know the 3DS is steadily approaching…and then there’s all the good DS games out…I can’t wait too much longer…

I personally have gotten the original, lite and dsi, but nothing crazy like trading in for a different color. Hamu-chan only has a DS lite. I will definitely be getting the 3DS and I think at this point it’s worth it to wait for the newer model.

As you said in your podcast, the Wii is targeted towards casual gamers (families, moms, grandparents) and that’s why Wii Sports is so popular. Do you think that because Nintendo chose this targeted audience, game studios don’t work hard enough for Wii content? I mean many of my friends who own Wii’s always complain that there are no games for gamers on the wii, only waggle-ware and Mario, Zelda, etc. The idea that the Wii’s controller has already been used for some on-rail shooter games, but why don’t they market more FPS’?

Are you guys getting Dead Space 2? If so, how do you guys think the multiplayer will revolutionize the horror genre where players might become part of the horror in scaring others, just as we do in real life, in the end or would it just end up like another gimmicky extra mode more action-packed and forgotten over the next best thing?

Would you think it could inspire future horror titles that could look into featuring their games with multiplayer?

I hope there will be an option to set mics open to everyone not just to their respective teams or hear their voices as long as you’re close to each other regardless of teams so when surprising a player you can hear them jump out of their chairs.

Now that I think about it, having open mics could spur cheating and betraying….but, it could be fun about having open/free-for-all mics for the necromorphs to tease and scare the humans by calling out their usernames and
telling them to watch their backs all of the time when you’ll just drop right above them or come out of closest vent… xD

What do you guys think, overall?

You mention in the podcast that Wii Sports was the most popular game simply because it is bundled with the Wii and most people do not buy any other games. Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit are each owned by about 1/3 of total Wii owners so I am wondering if you have any specific data related to sales that we can associate to prove that most Wii owners have only Wii Sports because there are about 76 million Wiis sold worldwide and about 610 Wii games sold worldwide, excluding virtual console sales. So it averages out to about 8 games per owner, if it is fairly accurate that most do not own more than one game than it means some people are not buying games and others are buying extremely large amounts of games to make the average so high.

Both the 360 and PS3 have similar amounts around of 8-9 games per owner unless you exclude Wii Sports from the list making it more like 7 games per console owner.

Also when you are your wife are visit Japan could you take a lot of pictures because I love pictures of Japan’s food and games. For your next podcast could you give us a preview of upcoming games being developed in Japan that you will are interested in?

Your point is a good one Ropes and I definitely don’t have facts as much as personal accounts to back-up my statements. Most of my friends I know that own a Wii have only 1-2 games, one being Wii sports. And those friends I would not consider “gamers”. They bought the Wii simply from all the hype. I have about 20 games for my Wii and love them all and I would assume that the 8 games per owner is being swayed by the avid gamers.

Also to note my other mistake in the show, Air Guitar is not a planned game for Activision but rather a proof-of-concept through a Kinect hack. http://www.chrisoshea.org/lab/air-guitar-prototype

I was definitely drinking something this episode. Hopefully future podcasts will include better facts.

We’ll work on getting you those Japanese food pics :-)
