Developers of ‘Splosion Man Really Care About Their Fans
Lately it seems developers and publishers (probably more so the publishers) are splitting up pre-planned content to later charge for it in DLC. Or games being canceled when there is a strong demand for them to be released (I’m lookin’ at you Mega Man Legends 3). So it still amazes me when you hear news of content being given away for free, especially when it’s on the Xbox 360.
That’s just what Twisred Pixel recently announced for fans of the now two year old ‘Splosion Man. They will get a free downloadable level that will bridge the story up to where ‘Splosion Man is captured in the beginning of Ms. ‘Splosion Man. While this might not seem like much, it is just that extra touch of care that did not need to be included.
That’s only the icing on the cake! (yeah I said it). Twisted Pixel is going to be holding a series of themed TMS (Title Managed Storage) challenges where prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd leaderboard spots at the end of each challenge. The first challenge they have teamed up with Destructoid to give away a bobble head Mr. D-Toid and a statue of Ms. ‘Splosion Man that lights up.
Not only is it nice to see this sort of fan service but also that it is coming from a smaller company known for its cheap but awesome arcade hits instead of insanely big budgeted games. I salute you Twisted Pixel.
