The Top 50 Video Game Character’s OF ALL TIME!

Every year the Guinness World Records rounds up an entire book full of record holders that all have some relation to video games.  This year among the many record holders also is a list of the Top 50 video game character’s of all time, as voted by 13,000 fans on the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition website.  The list spans across 30 years of gaming history and many of them, unsurprisingly, are from Nintendo.

One thing that Nintendo has had great success with, other then selling re-purposed weight scales, is building memorable character’s.  There aren’t a lot of games that will bring tears to a grown man’s eyes when a sequel is announced (I’m pointing at you Twilight Princess).  But Nintendo seems to release its games at just the right intervals to make gamers want more and thus obsess about that character.

As you continue to run down the list of Top 50 you may also notice some strange ones.  Mega Man with his many games seems a little low on the list, while others like “Soap” and “Ghost” may be getting more love simply because they are still fresh in people’s minds.
